The Canopy Lamp
The Canopy Lamp was inspired by the repetition of organic shapes and the inherent beauty of silk. I aimed to create a sculptural table lamp that feels delicate while highlighting the natural drape of the textile. When illuminated, the intersection points and stitching are subtly revealed and cast patterned shadows. The base is carved to recess the bulb, producing a soft ambient glow. Brass rods inserted at varied angles introduce movement, while custom brass donuts, designed in collaboration with jewelry student Rhys Morrow, accent the intersections and add refined detail.
